Our park started nearly 20 years ago as a fishing and hunting preserve. It featured several camping sites, yurts, and a clubhouse and bathhouse. Over the years, we continued adding sites and amenities, and eventually, the park transformed from a hunting ground to a family campground. We’re proud to say that our park has won some of the most coveted awards in the industry, achieving top ranks out of more than 70 Jellystone Parks throughout the United States. From our amazing location to our bevy of amenities, we can say with confidence that our park is truly the best campground around.

Myrtle Beach is about an hour south of the park. If you’ve never been to Myrtle Beach before, you’ll be amazed at what’s in store for you. You could spend an entire day here and still not do everything there is to do! Shopping, dining, and watersports are some of the more popular activities. Your kids will definitely want to visit the zipline course and the oceanfront waterpark, and parents will be drawn to the vintage car collection and 187-foot tall observation Ferris wheel.
Don’t mind getting your hands (or your whole body) dirty? Check out Carolina Backwoods, an award-winning park offering messy, muddy, backwoods ATV tours. Don’t worry; you can always choose the “High and Dry” trail if you want to stay clean…kind of. They provide the ATVs and all the protective gear you need, and tours run about 2 hours.
Lake Waccamaw is about 40 minutes northeast of Jellystone and offers a full day of outdoor activities. This small state park is home to one of the most interesting lakes in the world; its very existence is unexplainable, and the area is home to rare wildlife, including several species that are found nowhere else on earth! Obviously, wildlife observation is something you’ll want to do here – you can grab checklists at the park office. Other activities include boating and fishing.
Tabor City itself is a great place to visit! Downtown, you’ll find the Horace Carter Museum honoring the town and the Pulitzer Prize-winning author. Grab some home-cooked, classic Southern food at the Todd House and visit the Tabor City Freight Depot, where you can explore the town’s railroading history. Or, just spend the day hanging out and walking around downtown.
