Over the years, we continued adding sites and amenities, and eventually, the park transformed from a hunting ground to a family campground. We’re proud to say that our park has won some of the most coveted awards in the industry, achieving top ranks out of more than 70 Jellystone Parks throughout the United States. From our amazing location to our bevy of amenities, we can say with confidence that our park is truly the best campground around.

Lake Waccamaw is about 40 minutes northeast of Jellystone and offers a full day of outdoor activities. This small state park is home to one of the most interesting lakes in the world; its very existence is unexplainable, and the area is home to rare wildlife, including several species that are found nowhere else on earth! Obviously, wildlife observation is something you’ll want to do here – you can grab checklists at the park office. Other activities include boating and fishing.
-
Tabor City itself is a great place to visit! Downtown, you’ll find the Horace Carter Museum honoring the town and the Pulitzer Prize-winning author and several great little stores.
